ROFDW Architects - Company News
April 25, 1997 In celebration of its 50th anniversary, ROFDW Architects announces the promotion of three staff members. Reynaldo Zamora, Jr., AIA, in the McAllen office, Michael E. Allex, AIA, in the Harlingen office, and Larry Janousek in the Dallas office, are now Associate Principals with the firm. Mr. Zamora has been a project manager and construction administrator for ROFDW since 1991. He is a registered architect and member of the American Institute of Architects, the Texas Society of Architects and currently President of the Lower Rio Grande Valley (LRGV) Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He has been instrumental in the firms work on Armado Cuellar Middle School and Black Intermediate School Addition for the Weslaco Independent School District, and the Texas National Guard Armory and Organization Maintenance Shop in Weslaco, Library/Learning Center and Auditorium at the Marine Military Academy in Harlingen, the Senior Citizens Center in McAllen and the Le Moyne Gardens Renovation for the Harlingen Housing Authority. A 1979 graduate of The University of Texas at Austin, Mr. Zamora spent several years practicing architecture in San Luis Polosi, Monterrey, Mexico, and Austin, Texas, before joining ROFDW.
Mr. Allex has been instrumental in the formation of the firms Harlingen office. A 1988 graduate of Texas Tech University, he is responsible for the marketing and administration of projects for that office. His most recent projects include the Harlingen Downtown Improvements District, New Coleman Hall and Cadet Services Building at the Marine Military Academy, the Harlingen Performing Arts Theater, Laguna Madre Enterprise Center in Port Isabel, and the Ronald McDonald House in Harlingen. His community involvement includes Scout Master and District Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America, Treasurer - Harlingen Chamber of Commerce VIP Club, 1995 graduate of Leadership Harlingen, member of the L.R.G.V. American Institute of Architects Chapter and Chairperson of the Office Olympics for The Jackson Street Jubilee.
Mr. Janousek joined ROFDW as a Project Architect/Project Manager in 1992. A 1971 graduate of University of Texas at Austin, he has extensive experience in educational, correctional and other governmental projects. Mr. Janousek is the project manager for ROFDWs indefinite delivery contract with the United States Postal Service, the renovations to the Corsicana State Home and a new food service facility for the Federal Correctional Institution at Seagoville. He is a registered Architect in the State of Texas and a member of the national and Dallas Chapters of the American Institute of Architects and the Texas Society of Architects.
January 22, 1997 Patrick Slattery has joined ROFDW Architects as its Management Information Systems (MIS) Manager. He will handle network and computer systems for the offices in Dallas, McAllen and Harlingen, TX. His previous position was as Computer Systems Manager for Toms Tree Place, one of Texas largest nurseries, located in Lubbock.
